I've always said I'm not an artist. I wanted to be, I practically craved the ability to make images attach themselves to paper in a realistic or at least interesting way. I wanted to be able to bring my imaginary characters to life, to capture moments or expressions I saw and give them the warmth that a loving hand can, but I have never demonstrated much natural skill in that area. I have decided that the medium in which I have always felt more at home, and arguably shown more skill in, should count as art too, and so I console myself with the label of literary artist. My lexicon is my palette, and there is just as much love and warmth and deliberate care in the way I craft a scene or character as there would be in the way I drew their faces or painted the landscapes of their world, if I could. I may not be able to honor such cherished creations as Darknesse or Dwyvannion with breathtaking color portraits, but I do my best to make them come to life with words. I love to illustrate the tremendous strength in Nessie's lithe muscles, her cat-like grace, to reveal the commanding presence in her voice, and yet among her closest friends she proves to be remarkably vulnerable, weakened and humanized in wonderful ways by her great capacity to love and protect others. I'm equally fond of eccentric, diminutive Dwy, who is a little prone to freaking out under stress, and might just as soon say hello to your shoes as to you, but who is also struggling to cope with a troubled past and bravely facing an uncertain future with her optimistic heart on her sleeve. She is fiercely loyal, fun-loving and adventurous, and never lets her insanity get in the way of feeling the thrill of life.
So there you have it. You'll likely never see any artwork of mine here, but perhaps you -will- see more of my creative writing, and for me, that's as close as it gets.

If left 4 Dead has taught me anything, it's that downing an entire unlabeled bottle of pills will make all your bad feelings go away.
